In short: Kaldrith has no accounts, no sign-up, no ads and no analytics. We do not collect personal data ourselves. Your game settings are saved only in your own browser. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical request data (such as your IP address) to deliver the site and keep it secure.

1. Who we are
This website (kaldrith.com) and the browser game Kaldrith, available at kaldrith.com/play/, are operated by Kaldrith (“we”, “us”). For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR, we are the controller of any personal data processed through the site, as described below.
You can reach us at privacy@kaldrith.com.
2. What data is involved
Data we collect from you: none. Kaldrith is free to play and needs no account, no registration and no email address. We do not ask for your name, and we have no forms, comments or user profiles. We do not run analytics or advertising on kaldrith.com at the time of writing.
Two kinds of data are nevertheless involved when you use the site:
- Server and request data (hosting). When your browser loads a page, image, video or game file, the request reaches Cloudflare, which hosts and delivers the site. Such requests inherently include your IP address, the requested URL, the time, your browser and device type (user agent), the referring page and the response status. This is processed to deliver the site, protect it against abuse and attacks, and keep it running.
- Settings stored in your browser. The game saves your preferences (for example volume, graphics quality and your last selected hero) in your browser’s local storage so they are still there on your next visit. This data stays on your device. We do not receive it, and it is not sent to any server. Details are in section 4.
If you email us, we process your email address and the content of your message in order to reply.
3. Why we process it (legal bases)
- Delivering and securing the site (server and request data): our legitimate interests in operating a working, secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We keep this processing to what hosting requires, and you can object to it (see section 8).
- Saving your game settings in your browser: this storage is strictly necessary to provide a function you have asked for (remembering your settings), so under the ePrivacy rules it does not require consent. Any related processing relies on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
- Your consent choice: to remember whether you accepted or rejected optional storage, we save that choice in your browser. This is also strictly necessary, and lets us respect your decision (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Answering your emails: our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, or steps you ask us to take (Art. 6(1)(f) and (b) GDPR).
- Optional features in the future (analytics, advertising): none are active today. If we introduce any that need consent, we will ask first and rely on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You will be able to withdraw it at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer.
4. Cookies and local storage
We do not set any cookies ourselves. The site and game use your browser’s local storage, which works like a cookie in that it stores small pieces of data on your device, but it is not sent to a server with each request. All entries below are essential and are used only to provide the functions you use. The game and this site share the same browser storage because they are on the same domain.
| Key | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
kaldrith_consent_v1 | Your cookie/storage choice (accept all or reject non-essential) and the time you made it. | Until you clear your browser data |
bg_audio | Volume levels, music and mute settings. | Until you clear your browser data |
bg_quality, bg_quality_t | Graphics quality level picked automatically for your device, and when it was measured. | Re-measured after 3 days |
bg_fxlevel | Visual effects level you selected. | Until you clear your browser data |
bg_menu_v1 | Your last menu selections: hero, team size, difficulty and game mode. | Until you clear your browser data |
bg_tut | Remembers that you have seen the short tutorial card. | Until you clear your browser data |
bg_campaign_v1 | Your roguelite campaign progress. | Until you clear your browser data |
Because only essential storage is used today, the cookie banner’s “Accept all” and “Reject non-essential” buttons currently change nothing about how the site works. We still record your choice so that it is honoured if optional features are added. You can change it at any time through Cookie settings in the footer.
You can delete this data at any time in your browser’s settings (clear site data for kaldrith.com). Doing so resets your game settings and campaign progress.
5. Third parties
- Cloudflare, Inc. hosts and delivers the site (Cloudflare Workers static assets and its content delivery network). Cloudflare processes request data, including IP addresses, on our behalf as infrastructure provider. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
- No other third parties on kaldrith.com. We do not load third-party fonts, trackers, analytics, advertising or social media widgets. The trailer video and all images are served from our own domain.
- Other platforms. A separate build of Kaldrith may be offered on third-party game portals such as CrazyGames. Those versions are run under the portal’s own terms and privacy policy, which may include advertising and analytics by the portal. They are not part of kaldrith.com and are not covered by this policy.
If we add analytics, advertising or other third-party services to kaldrith.com in the future, we will update this page, list the provider and the data involved, and ask for your consent before they are activated where the law requires it.
6. International transfers
Cloudflare operates a global network, so your request may be handled by a server outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area and the UK (for example in the United States). Cloudflare relies on safeguards for such transfers, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. See Cloudflare’s documentation for details.
7. Retention
- Browser storage: stays on your device until you delete it (the graphics quality measurement is refreshed after 3 days). We cannot access or delete it for you.
- Server and request logs: held by Cloudflare under its own retention policies. We do not build our own log archive or profiles from them.
- Emails: kept only as long as needed to handle your request, and then deleted unless we are legally required to keep them.
8. Your rights (GDPR)
If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy;
- have inaccurate data corrected, and have data erased;
- restrict the processing of your data;
- data portability, where processing is based on consent or a contract and carried out by automated means;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent (this does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal);
- lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example in your country of residence or work.
Because we do not collect personal data ourselves and have no accounts, we usually cannot identify you from the technical data held by our host. We may therefore need further information from you to act on a request. To exercise your rights, email privacy@kaldrith.com. We do not make decisions about you by automated means that have legal or similarly significant effects.
9. California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not collect personal information beyond the technical request data described in section 2, which our hosting provider processes as a service provider. California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion or correction, to opt out of sale or sharing (which we do not do), and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, email privacy@kaldrith.com.
10. Children
Kaldrith is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the applicable age of digital consent in your country). Because we do not collect personal data through the game, no account or personal details are ever requested. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, email us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example if we add analytics, advertising or other services. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change affects how your data is used in a way that requires your consent, we will ask for it again.
